In this Section we cover various resources that Trainers can use, related to violence against women and health care providers.

Several Training modules have been listed below which aim to provide information to trainers attempting to cover the following issues:

This section lists several documented Training sessions as guidelines for trainers conducting programs for health care professionals. Each of these have been classified based on their objectives. Issues covered in each respective Training Module include; Domestic Violence, Gender, Role of Health Care Providers, Counseling, Role of Trainer, Gender based violence and Communication skills for trainers.

a)    Introduction
This document is covers understanding the role that different staff members in a hospital setting play and general procedures related to survivors of violence.

b)    Module I : Domestic Violence
This document is a training module on a two-day orientation session on Domestic Violence that includes the following objectives;

-To get the group to break the silence around violence.
-To introduce the concept that domestic violence is a public health issue.
-To share information about Dilaasa as a hospital-based project.
-To motivate the group to become key trainers.

c)    Module II : Gender
This document is a training module on a two-day introductory session on Gender that includes the following objectives;
-To create awareness about the difference between sex and gender.
-To sensitise participants about the manifestations of gender.
-To create awareness about patriarchy and power relations.

d)    Module III : Violence and the Role of Health Care Providers
This document is a training module on a two-day introductory session on Violence and the Role of Health Care Providers that includes the following objectives;
-To create awareness regarding the role of a health care professional in dealing with domestic violence.
-To train them to care for women patients facing domestic violence

e)    Module IV: Counselling
This document is a training module on a two-day introductory session on Counselling that includes the following objectives;
-To impart skills required by key trainers to communicate with women patients who report abuse and maltreatment.
-To help them gain an understanding of the concept of counselling, and the principles involved in it.

f)    Module V: Role of the Trainer
This document is a training module on a two-day introductory session on Role of the Trainer that includes the following objectives;
-To understand the principles of adult learning.
-To help participants gain an understanding of the different methods involved in conducting a training session

g)    Module VI : Communication Skills for Trainers
This document is a training module on a two-day introductory session on Communication Skills for Trainers that includes the following objectives;
-To help the participants understand the methods, principles, roles and tasks involved in conducting training sessions.
-To gauge the preparedness of the participants in conducting training sessions.

h)    Module VII : Gender based violence and the Role of Health Care Professionals
This document is a training module on a two-day introductory session on Gender based violence and the role of Health Care Professionals that includes the following objectives;
-To understand gender-based violence and its manifestations.
-To understand the health consequences of violence against women.
-To bring about the realization that violence is a public health issue.
-To explore the role of health care providers in dealing with gender-based violence.
-To think of an integrated and ward-wise plan to address the issue of violence against women.
